as far as present obama's proposals, he made them this month. some are executive actions and some he is calling for legislation. but he too is requiring asking for criminal background checks for all gun sales and he was going to address that by removing some barriers in health laws that prevent some states from making the information available to people that need it. he would go about improving centers for states to share information within the system and making sure that all of the federal agencies are talking with each other. and he would also make sure that his ag would be talking with the federal law enforcement agencies. and it goes on where his plan, you know, goes into the assault weapon ban. and he called for it to be reinstated and to be strengthened. and the one that this nation had expired in 2004 and also, he directs some of his action toward us, toward the police. as far as getting rid of the armor piercing bullets and giving us tools to prevent and prosecute gun crimes he calls for more school resource officers and more counselors in the schools and he asks that the

more comprehensive and we need to have that. it's going to be an uphill fight, as president obama has reminded us, but we have it keep talking about it. we have to keep it in the forefrupt. we have to keep the pictures of our youth in front of us in everything that we do. this is what i am willing to do and again continue asking everybody for help in the city because the more i do that, the more of the graciousness of our community comes out because this is not something that just law enforcement can do, it's got to be our whole society acting together. thank you. . obama signed the home affordable refinance program in 2010. locally we've done many things. in january 2008, this board of supervisors established a san francisco fair lending working group, with its number one policy recommendation of whenever possible home ownership should be preserved and foreclosure prevented. this promotes family stability in our neighborhoods and community. second of all, the goal of this legislation was to provide security for tenants in t.i.c. buildings. supervisor wiener as coauthor want to ensure that tenants in t.i.c. buildings which might take advantage of this legislation will be presented. we wanted to provide the greatest security possible for existing tenants to be secure in their units and our legislation has done exactly that. let me specifically address this to many of the people in the hallway that seem to be misinformed about this legislation. if you are a tenant in a building that elects to take advantage of this legislation, you will receive a rent controlled lifetime lease in that building. you will not be evicted. you will not be forced out of
